How Good Friends Works

Good Friends is a membership organization and is open to any woman who wants to join.  The only criterion is the ability to pay annual dues of $55.

Every year, every current member (dues are collected annually) is welcome to attend the annual fund raising luncheon and bring as many guests as she wishes to invite.

The luncheon is our primary activity and consumes the majority of our operating budget.  Good Friends relies exclusively on membership dues to fund the annual operating budget of approximately $50,000. 

All contributed funds are distributed to those in need.  Not one cent of contributed funds is used for administrative expense.

Good Friends is a 501 C3 non-profit that is governed by a 25-member Board of Directors.  Operating decisions are made by the Executive Committee with a Professional Organization Administrator contracted to manage activities on a part-time basis. 

Each year a member is recruited to manage the annual luncheon.  Over time, it has evolved that the current Luncheon Chair serves as vice-chair the previous year to obtain exposure and valuable experience prior to her year as Chair.
